Goodbye, Tower Records

This hurts, personally, professionally and otherwise.

From 1984 through 1993 I was purchasing manager for import and independent labels at Tower Records' main office in West Sacramento. Most of the people I worked with during that time quit or were fired over the past seven years. Since then the company has been obtaining loans, defaulting on them, and looking for a buyer.

Today it ended.

Too bad. Another iconic name gone, thanks to Amazon and Best Buy. The Tower Records stores at Fisherman's Wharf and on Sunset were just part of the scene.
