Outside (Yet Oh-So-Very-Inside) the Bubble
From Harry Shearer's Le Blast email today:
...[T]here's a "spy scandal" in the Vice President's office. A former Pentagon Iran specialist has filed a guilty plea to passing secret info to Israeli lobbyists. And there's a deathly silence in Washington, D.C. about these events, amidst the hyperventilating over Harriet Miers and Judith Miller. Weren't the Republicans going disciplined-message ape-poop over Clinton's fund-raising contacts with Chinese folks? Where, one might ask, are the Democrats when real, honest-to-goodness espionage problems are cropping up in the highest offices of the land? MIA, as they have been ever since, at least, the debate over the Iraq war resolution. And yet two former Clinton advisers have checked in with a policy paper urging Democrats interested in being elected President in 2008 to be more centrist. What am I missing?
